Salt House Kids

We welcome children and families of all kinds – of all ethnicities, able-ness, and faith backgrounds. Yes, this is a place where ALL children and families are loved and accepted.

There are 3 ways for kids to engage at Salt House. Take a look at the options below and choose which one will best meet the needs of your kids. The ages listed are simply recommendations, not a hard rule. We want kids to be in the environment that is best for them.

Our Salt House Kids ministry is growing like a weed and we are expanding our staff to meet the needs of this growing community. We have several split-time jobs available! Check out the job descriptions here. Perhaps you can see yourself in this role. We love for you to consider if it's a good fit for you on the Salt House Kids Team!

NURSERY | Ages 0 - 4

Kids in the nursery are given loving care in a warm and comfortable environment.  The teachers will do a small circle time where they sing and read Bible stories with the kids. The rest of the time is spent playing and making friends! There are a variety of baby toys, books, puzzles, bouncers, and space for crawlers.

ELEMENTARY | Ages 5 - 10

Elementary school aged kids are invited to start service in the sanctuary with the rest of the community. After the welcome message, prayer, and song (about 10 minutes) they will be dismissed to join the teachers upstairs for an age-appropriate lesson and activity. While upstairs they will read the Bible, explore age-appropriate Christian concepts, create art, practice prayer, play games, and make friends!

The youth at Salt House are encouraged to attend and participate in the worship on Sundays.  There are many opportunities for them to be involved at Salt House – joining the welcome team, helping run the slide show during service, reading scripture & prayers, and assisting with communion just to name a few!  Middle and High School youth are also invited to attend Youth Group at Salt House which meets the 3rd Sunday of every month after service (during our potluck meal).

Salt House Kids leaders send out weekly e-mails to help parents engage and disciple their kids, these messages review the previous Sunday’s message, give the plan for the Sunday to come, and include upcoming dates and events of interest.

ABOUT RACHEL // I found my passion for working with children while volunteering in high school. That was over 20 years ago (but let’s not do the math to figure out my age – I’m young at heart!). I have earned degrees in Elementary Education and Special Education and am eager to put my expertise to work at Salt House. In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my husband Anson, my cat Beta, and my puppy Waffles. My hobbies include reading books, crafting, and eating chocolate.
